Stamford, CT, November 13, 2006 - FUJIFLM Medical Systems USA, Inc. ("Fuji"), a leading provider of diagnostic imaging products and network systems for radiology, and Problem Solving Concepts, Inc. ("ProSolv®"), a provider of enterprise-level information management solutions for cardiology, announced today the development of a co-marketing agreement. This agreement will enable the two companies, in the US market, to leverage their respective expertise and the product benefits of ProSolv's cardiology software and Fuji's Synapse® PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) for radiology, to provide physicians with better access to clinical information while at the same time allowing healthcare facilities to better leverage their IT infrastructure investment.
"ProSolv® is dedicated to providing state-of-the art solutions to meet our customers' PACS needs," stated Thomas D. Feigenbaum, CEO and President of ProSolv®. "We are pleased to be able to provide an integrated distribution and reporting software solution with our cardiology PACS and Fuji's radiology PACS technology that will provide our customers with increased continuity of care during the diagnostic process." Feigenbaum goes on to state, "ProSolv's customized reporting solution and Fuji's Synapse viewing technology will increase the productivity of our clients' labs."
With software solutions based on industry standard approaches, ProSolv and Fuji can now deliver a tightly integrated cardiology / PACS solution that will enable cardiologists to launch Synapse from within the cardiac application, and radiologists to link directly to ProSolv. The companies are also providing an aligned IT infrastructure that will provide healthcare facilities with the ability to build economy of scale and realize cost savings by having a uniform approach to their storage and disaster recovery solutions.
"The level of integration that we are able to achieve with Synapse and ProSolv® cardiology software results in better access to information and thus can improve the level of patient care," said Bob Cooke, Fuji's Executive Director of Marketing and Product Development. "Cardiology and radiology are the two largest data generators in healthcare. By integrating access to imaging data, our collaboration with ProSolv will not only help aid in the outcomes delivered in cardiology and radiology, but will also provide improved levels of efficiency and cost savings for the IT space."
