LAC + USC Healthcare Network Gos Portable with Fujifilm Digital X-ray

Exceptional image quality and productivity features of Fujifilm’s FCR Go™ win the vote of rads and techs

Stamford, CT. - March 30, 2008 - FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA is pleased to announce that Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Healthcare Network (LAC +USC) has purchased and installed 13 FCR Go™ digital portable x-ray systems. The innovative FCR Go is now fulfilling all portable x-ray needs throughout the expansive state-of-the-art hospital. The FCR Go’s consistent, high quality images and intelligent workflow features were important product attributes for the radiologists and technologists respectively.

“The FCR Go has really surpassed our expectations by allowing technologists to work more efficiently and by making quality images available to our radiologists more quickly,” says Daniel Amaya, Administrator of Diagnostic Services, LAC-USC. “We wanted to convert the entire facility to the same digital portable, and with the system’s tech-friendly features, wireless networking capabilities and overall reliability, it’s proven to be the right move. We’ve virtually eliminated retakes and have even increased efficiency, two key factors since we perform nearly 400,000 exams each year,” continued Amaya.

LAC + USC, which opened in November 2008, is one of the largest acute care hospitals in the US. Workflow, efficiency, and reliability were the facility’s lead criteria in a portable imaging product. The FCR Go incorporates Fujifilm’s standard durable, lightweight cassettes in multiple sizes, allowing for flexibility to perform any imaging exam. Smart operation at the full-featured workstation and unique convenience features like “inching” and dual collimator controls aid efficiencies. And the FCR Go interfaces seamlessly with Fujifilm’s Synapse® PACS which features exam specific presets for dynamic image optimization that can aid radiologists during the diagnostic process.

The implementation of all 13 FCR Gos is another chapter in a long relationship between LAC + USC Healthcare Network and Fujifilm. The hospital also uses Synapse® PACS, and a number of other Fuji Computed Radiography (FCR) systems including multi-plate/multi-room XG5000 systems, and single plate SmartCR® and FCR Carbon systems.
